Regional Group Latvia welcomes new Coordinator
As of the beginning of next year, Dagnija Lejina will be new Coordinator for the Regional Group Latvia. Dagnija serves as Head of Public Relations at Nordea Bank Latvija and leads all communication activities for the stakeholders in Latvia. She also gives lectures to students on various Corporate Communications subjects and has more than 10 years of experience in the field of communications, including journalism, public communication in NGO, public and private sector. Dagnija looks forward to working with other EACD members based in Latvia, and thereby strengthening the network of communications professionals in the region.
New Coordinator for Working Group Health
Nicole Gorfer, Head of Communications at Roche Austria will take over the reins as Head of the EACD Working Group Health from Josep Catllà Planas. Nicole Gorfer assumed the role of Head of Communications at Roche Austria in 2007, where she began leading communications of the pharmaceutical division of Roche, which is a leader in research-focused healthcare, with combined strengths in pharmaceuticals and diagnostics and one of the world’s top biotech companies. Prior to this, Ms Gorfer directed Communications actions for pharmaceutical companies such as Hexal and Sandoz in Austria.

EACD 5th Anniversary Celebration
For the first time in its history, on the occasion of the association’s fifth birthday, the EACD moved its annual anniversary celebration from Brussels to Paris. In order to better reflect the association’s regional diversity, the EACD Board agreed to move the celebration to a new European city every year, starting with Paris this year. On November 24, the celebration took place in the French capital, at the premises of Alcatel-Lucen International, in the glow of the nearby Eiffel Tower. New Survey on Identities in Social Media
Once again, the EACD has cooperated with Professor Dr Miriam Meckel, from the Institute for Media and Communication Management at the University of St Gallen, for a study on social media. This year's survey focuses on online personas and, more specifically, how social media reflect the different roles that communicators play in their professional and private lives. The results of this survey will help communicators to understand the impact that technology, as well as the multiple roles that they cover across the course of each and every day, have on the profession. Making sense of online personae is an essential step in being able to use them strategically within the profession. ... more
Launch of Coaching Days
The EACD proudly announces the launch of the EACD Coaching Days, a new initiative which, along with the Regional Debates, will offer even more platforms to the association's members to benefit from presentations on a topic in depth. A Coaching Day is in the form of a two- or three-hour workshop, for EACD members interested in learning in depth about a particular aspect of communications. The workshops have a strong interactive element which includes practical knowledge that participants can take away. Attendees will be exposed to concrete strategies and ideas that they can implement in their own professional lives. ... more
