Regional Groups & Working Groups

Communications in the field of risk and crisis are a very crucial part of every company’s communication and are decisive in determining the company’s reputation. The Working Group reflects on recent cases and developments in the field of risk and crisis communications and aims at offering food-for-thought for the prevention and mitigation of crises.

Our decade experiences major changes in the media landscape: Newspapers are shut down and the digitisation of the media massively changes our daily use of media. The objective of the Working Group Future of the Media is to identify how these changes influence professional communications and find ways and strategies to tackle these new challenges.

Since mid 2008, the Regional Group Portugal has offered EACD members a wide range of topically-focused events and meetings. The group facilitates EACD members in networking, professionalisation and information sharing. These events revolve around topics and issues that are important for communication professionals in the region.

The Working Group Social Media gathers members from various backgrounds reflecting the ever-increasing importance of Social Media. Debates and workshops of this Working Group reflect current trends and developments in Social Media. The group also aims to provide its participants with methods on how to manage their social media communication.

The EACD Regional Group Lithuania facilitates active, cooperative and friendly networking opportunities and hosts events that cover a wide variety of communication topics, focussing on issues facing Lithuania, the Baltics, broader Europe as well as global communications.

The Regional Group Ireland became an active EACD group in 2011. The group aims to dedicate meetings, discussions and debates to topics that are significant and pertinent to the region.

The Regional Group Romania has been active in organising events and activities since 2008. The group discusses and debates a wide variety of communication topics, focusing not only on the issues that concern Romania, but also take into account the broader European and global communication situation.

Since mid 2008, the Regional Group Hungary has offered EACD members topically-focused events and meetings. This group has held several forums for members within the region to tackle the relevant issues they face within their profession.

The Regional Group Belgium has been an active member of the EACD network since 2008. Belgium is the largest regional group within the EACD with a membership of over 300 people. By bringing professionals together both on a formal and informal basis, Belgium offers networking opportunities and idea sharing specific to its locale.

The Regional Group Switzerland began organising events in 2008 and is one of the largest EACD regional groups. The group has been very active in organising events and activities that facilitate networking, professionalisation and information sharing.
