European Communication Summit update

The European Communication Summit 2009 will take place on July 2nd - 3rd, and more than 300 participants from all over Europe have confirmed their participation. The event, hosted by the European Association of Communication Directors and Communication Director magazine, welcomes public relations and communications professionals from thirty-six countries. The event will provide an opportunity for networking, as well as listening to over sixty prominent speakers in the field of communications and public relations, and is the biggest international event of its kind in Europe.

The event will focus on six major strands of communications: Strategy and Planning, Execution and Measurement, Next Media and Innovation, Internal and Change Communication, Crisis Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility. The Summit will include speeches from, for example, Alan Kelly (the founder and CEO of ‘the Playmaker’s Standard’), Björn Edlund (Global Head of Communications for Shell), Professor Soumitra Dutta (Roland Berger Chaired Professor of Business and Technology and Dean of External Relations at Insead), Mike Wing (Vice President of Strategic and Executive Communications at IBM) and Professor Craig Carroll (from the University of North Carolina School of Journalism and Mass Communication).
