Second Semester of Regional Debates
On October 14th, the second wave of the EACD’s 2009 Regional Debates will begin in Zurich, Switzerland. Hosted by ABB, the event will concentrate on ‘Maximising Communications in the era of Distracted Media’, addressing the challenges of making your messages heard when many in the media are still preoccupied with the current financial situation. The speakers will be Médard Schoenmaeckers (Head of Media Relations, Syngenta) and Wolfram Eberhardt (Vice President Global Media Relations, ABB).
The first wave of Debates in 2009 focused on Crisis Communications, as that seemed most appropriate as the professional challenge that communicators seemed to be facing at the time, however now there will be a variety of themes and also formats for the regional debates, as the Coordinators now have a much greater input into planning the events specifically for their region.
Organised by EACD Regional Coordinators, the debates provide members and interested fellow communication professionals with an opportunity to get together and share communications-related experience and ideas. The Regional Debates also deal with best practice case studies, such as the use of social media as a communication tool or restructuring communication strategies.
