Head of Working Group 'CSR' Elected

During the meeting of the EACD Working Group on Corporate Social Responsibility, which was held as part of the EACD Anniversary in Brussels, Yannis Freris (Head of Corporate Communication & Sustainable Development, Gefyra) was elected as the first Head of the Group. The CSR Working Group started its life at the suggestion of Mr Freris, and held its first meeting, a Working Lunch, as part of the European Communication Summit 2009.

Mr Freris is an IEMA-approved CSR practitioner and was a nominee for CSR Manager of the Year in 2008. His past experience includes research as Scientific Director of the Institute for Research & Policy Strategy (INERPOST), communication and event management of the Greek action plan for the European Year Against Racism (1997) and consultancy work as part of Planet SA.

The EACD Working Groups aim to pool the knowledge of the association’s members within a particular field of interest. Their goals are to establish cross-institutional networks within specific fields and to develop and enhance topic-related standards. Members of the EACD convene regularly for workshops and meetings on specific topics. They work jointly on papers and guidelines for specific issues.
