New EACD Board Elected
The EACD has a new Board! At the General Assembly, held on July 2nd after the European Communication Summit 2010, members gathered at SQUARE in to discuss the current development and future outlook of the Association. Full members of the EACD were asked to vote on the EACD President, the Vice-Presidents, the Treasurer and the Assessors.
Herbert Heitmann from Royal Dutch Shell has again been elected President. Florence Ranson from the EBF was re-elected as the Managing Vice-President. Arja Suominen of Nokia was re-elected as Vice President, and Anthony Gooch of the OECD was elected to replace Neil Corlett, who stood down. Mark Redgrove from Orgalime was re-elected as the Treasurer.
The members voted to amend the statutes of the association, expanding the number of assessors allowed as part of the board to eleven. This was agreed upon to make the EACD more representative of its members by having a larger, more diverse board to provide a greater impetus over the next two crucial years. Marianne Amssoms (Anheuser-Busch InBev), Christian de Barrin (EU2020 Prospective Club), Jan Hol (Océ) and David Willows (International School of Brussels) were re-elected as Assessors (Thomas Ellerbeck and Isabel Borgas stood down), where they will be joined by the following new Assessors: Marcello Berni (UniCredit Group), Luulea Lääne (AS Tallink Grupp), Juan Francisco Polo Martin (Ferrovial), Atte Palomäki (Wärtsila Corporation), Rudolf Ramsauer (Nestlé), Elisabeth Schick (BASF Group) and Helmut Weixler (Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance).
On behalf of the entire Association, Herbert Heitmann thanked outgoing Board members Neil Corlett, Thomas Ellerbeck and Isabel Borgas for their commitment to the association over the last two years.
