We live in a world of continuous change – economical, technological, and societal. Challenges from climate change, Brexit, the Gilet Jaunes, rising populism translating now in growing political forces on the left and right of our political spectrums – just to  name a few – are becoming more and more part of our daily reality as professional communicators. The EACD and the Brand & Reputation Collective (BRC) led by Phil Riggins, published a joint study in November 2018 on Corporate communications in an age of radical uncertainty eacd_brc_radical_uncertainty.pdf

In our meeting we will look into the main results of this study and discuss questions on topics such as:

  • How has this affected stakeholder and consumer expectations?
  • How does it impact our own employees?
  • What are companies doing to meet the challenge?
  • What professional answer do we have as corporate communicators?
  • Do we have the right set-up and the right skills to deal with these challenges?

The host and moderator is Marcel Halma, Chief Communications Officer a.i. and Director Integrated Communications & Global Public Affairs at Nouryon (formerly AkzoNobel Chemicals), and Coordinator of the EACD WG Corporate Citizenship.

Speakers:

The topic will be introduced by Phil Riggins (CEO of BRC and coordinator of the joint EACD-BRC study) – he will set out the main conclusions of the study followed by perspectives from panelists:

  • Mike Klein (CEO of Changing the Terms, Internal Communications thoughtleader, and EMENA Chair of IABC)
  • Brett Kobie (SVP Integrated Communications & EMEA Digital Public Affairs Lead at FleishmanHillard’s EU Office)
  • Annemieke Kievit-Nol (Strategy Director at Hill+Knowlton Strategies)

Event Programme:

  • 15:30 Welcome and Registration
  • 16:00 Meeting
  • 17:45 Drinks and Informal networking
  • 18:30 End

This event is for EACD members only and is free of charge.
