The EACD is happy to invite you to our upcoming Regional Debate in Poland which is taking place on September 12th, 2014 from 9.30 to 12.00 at SANOFI in Warsaw.
In view of the 25th anniversary of the transformation in Poland, the EACD Regional Group of Poland is inviting all members to join a debate about "historical brands", which had their good and bad times. Some of them did not manage to survive in the market economy and disappeared for ever. Some of those brands that did survive manage quite well, some others went through restructuring or change of ownership and are doing occasionally well, and occasionally not so good. Some other brands were sold to Western corporations and nowadays have little to do with the original Polish brand.
Studies prove that Poles are very much attached to traditional, local brands and have sentimental affection towards them. Brands such as WEDEL, ORLEN, PKO BP, Herbapol, LUDWIK or PZU have been in the lead of many rankings.
We are looking forward to discuss arising questions such as: What do we have to do to help local brands succeed today? Does tradition help in communicating the brand or is it an obstacle? How to reach the young consumers? How do the local, traditional brands operate in the West? Are tradition and long heritage an obligation vis a vis the market? If so, in what way?
We are happy to welcome our speakers:
Katarzyna Borucka, Director for Corporate Affairs, Żywiec Group S.A.
Wojciech Wróblewski, Managing Director for Corporate Affairs, PZU Group S.A.
The discussion will be moderated by Paweł Rabiej, Partner in Charge of THINKTANK.
