The EACD is happy to invite you to our upcoming Regional Debate in Spain, which will take place on Friday, May 30th from 9am to 11am at OCEANA in Madrid.
The topic of the event will be "The Chief Communications Officer and the C-Suite"
"The Chief Communications Officer and the C-Suite" is a study supported by the EACD which examines the membership of communication professionals in executive committees.
Our role as Chief Communication Officers (CCO) is constantly evolving. We know that we have a vital role to play in strategic business decisions, particularly in recognising their impact on the cor-porate reputation, but the scope and outline of this role are the subjects of debate. What is our place in the overall organisational structure? What are the full range of responsibilities expected of us? Do we need a seat at the executive table to carry out these duties? These questions and more are pressing concerns in our latest study "The Chief Communication Officer and the C-Suite".
To explore these questions, the EACD is collaborating with two expert partners: the leading communication research institution The Amsterdam School of Communication Re- search and Russell Reynolds Associates, who as an assessment and recruitment specialist is ideally placed to offer and collect insights into the evolving position requirements of CCOs.
Together, we are looking at both quantitative and qualitative data and interviewed leading HR heads and CEOs to get their insight into the roles and responsibilities of today’s CCO.
This report is a summary of the initial results of this project: The Chief Communications Officer and the C-Suite
We look forward to welcoming our speakers EACD Board Member Ingmar de Gooijer, Director of Communications at EUCOMED and Jesús Marrodan, Executive Director, Russell Reynolds Associates.
About the speakers:
Ingmar de Gooijer, Director of Communications at EUCOMED
Ingmar is a Dutch national and currently lives in Brussels where he leads the communication efforts for the European industry associations for medical devices and diagnostics since 2010. Together with his team he recently launched a highly visual and emotive campaign called “Don’t lose the 3” targeting European politicians and policymakers. The style of the campaign would probably not raise many eyebrows in Washington but has generated significant debate in the Brussels arena.
Before moving to Brussels, Ingmar held various leadership positions with an international communications consultancy firm and was based in Japan, Singapore and the Netherlands.
Ingmar is a Board Member of the European Association of Communication Directors (EACD) since July 2012. His main focus is researching the current status and future of Chief Communication Officers within executive committees. This research is being executed together with the University of Amsterdam and Russell Reynolds.
Ingmar holds a Master in Public Administration from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
