EACD Regional Debate in Switzerland: Securing a Seat at the Board table for Communicators
How to secure a seat at the Board table for communicators in B2B organisations? The million dollar question and the “holy Grail” quest for many communicators in a business environment where sales and marketing are the driving powers.
Communications has been (and is still) considered by many as a support function that is measured by activity output, namely number of press releases issued and retweets achieved. It is not always considered as a strategic function that is driving outcome and making a difference in market share gain through reputation building and strategic positioning.
So what should we as communicators change in our business or do more of to earn that seat at the board room and a direct reporting line to the CEO?
What are the success factors that have enabled some us of us to secure their seat in the boardroom and to keep it?
The next regional EACD event in Geneva, will gather speakers that will share their experience with the regional EACD community and will provide a platform for discussion to help us all get further insight to elevate the Communications function to a strategic level.
The event will take place on November 3rd 2015 from 17.00 to 19.00 at DuPont, Mont Blanc room, chemin du Pavillon 2, CH-1218 Le Grand-Saconnex, Geneva.
