The EU Institutions Working Group Coordinators, Béla Dajka and Katie Owens, would like to invite you to a lunchtime reflection on Europe’s history and future at the newly opened House of European History.
Date: Tuesday 23 May
Time: 13.00 - 16.30
Location: House of European History; Rue Wiertz 60, 1047 Brussels, Belgium
The Working Group will be given a tour of through the permanent exhibition, which guides visitors through an outline of European history. The visit will focus primarily on the convictions and beliefs that defined the 19th century – Europe’s ‘entry into modernity’ – before moving on to consider Europe’s descent into war and destruction. This will be followed by the search for a better life in an increasingly united Europe. This will be complemented by a first insight into the plans for the European Parliament elections 2019 by Stephen Clark, European Parliament Directorate for Relations with Citizens, with the aim of encouraging a debate on how we can all contribute to shaping Europe's future.
This event is free of charge compliments of the EACD and the House of European History.
