Whitney Cubbison, EACD Member and Communications Director, Western Europe at Microsoft
Whitney will discuss storytelling at Microsoft – when and how best to tell your own stories on owned channels versus going through the press, and how storytelling can become a critical part of the overall marketing mix. Whitney Cubbison is based in Paris, France and runs external and internal Communications for Microsoft in Western Europe. Previously, she served as Executive Communications Director for the President of Microsoft International, covering his speech writing, PR and internal communications. She also spent two years running corporate communications for Europe, Middle East & Africa, including crisis communications and pan-regional media management and one year launching Microsoft's award-winning 4Afrika Initiative, a multi-year investment program designed to help African start-ups, developers and small businesses. Before coming to Paris, she spent three years at Microsoft's headquarters in the U.S. running PR for its Online Services Division.
Dr Edna Ayme-Yahil, EACD Board Member and Head of Communications for EIT Digital
Edna will present a case study on "Going G/local: pan-European communications for startups," which will elaborate on how European start-ups tailor communications for the local market while pursuing a global strategy. EIT Digital is the leading European digital innovation and entrepreneurial education organisation driving Europe’s digital transformation. Edna has developed and delivered top-quality integrated communications strategies in large global companies and public organizations. Previously, she has held various global communications roles at Nissan, STMicroelectronics, Philip Morris International and UNESCO and was a consultant for the OECD.
Coralie Cornet, EACD Regional Coordinator France and Communication Director for Apax Partners, looks forward to moderating the ensuing panel discussion with our speakers and audience.
Coralie is responsible for consolidating the company’s notoriety and is also involved in managing crisis and strategic communications for Apax Partners' portfolio companies. Previously, for 3 years, Coralie has managed internal and HR communications for Kurt Salmon and prior to that, for 5 years, developed the positioning of UGGC Law firm.
