The EACD Forum is the second main EACD event after the European Communication Summit. It takes place at the end of every year and brings together communication professionals to attend discussions, presentations and workshops covering a contemporary communication issue.
The EACD Forum changes location every year, in order to reflect the regional diversity of the association’s members. Communication professionals congregate in Europe’s main cities to attend our working group meetings and the traditional evening Panel Discussion debating the latest trends and challenges in communications.
The 2017 EACD Forum will take place in Madrid, Spain, on Thursday 23 November. The topic is Executive positioning and strategic leadership:
The CEO-CCO relationship has a crucially important strategic importance – for both the communications function and the organisation as a whole. How do communications leaders position their CEOs in a way that is both authentic and that brings benefit to the overall corporate reputation – and even the financial bottom line? How does the relationship between the top executives and the chief communications officer help position the CCO as a strategic leader? Is executive positioning determined by generation, industry and geography? And, in an Europe where the political contract is being rewritten by extremists, interest groups, and populist parties, are business leaders taking on a more vocal role in social issues, stepping in where our political leaders are failing – and, if so, what role does the CCO have to play in this?
The 10th annual EACD Forum took place on November 22nd in Berlin. Review the 2016 EACD Forum expert discussion below:
