Angela Howarth leads the World Green Building Council's strategic marketing communications initiatives. She works with member councils and corporate partners around the world to highlight the extraordinary opportunities of green innovations in the buildings and construction sector. Howarth brings a wealth of experience and know-how from her prior international leadership roles in the urban innovation and sustainability sector. She previously served as Head of Communications at the UK government’s Future Cities Catapult initiative, which runs urban innovation projects around the world. Howarth was hired to help the organisation bring together global businesses, city leaders and some of the world’s top universities to create innovative solutions to urban challenges. Before being appointed at Future Cities Catapult, Howarth served as Head of Communications Europe at Climate-KIC, a €500 million European Union initiative. Howarth led the public-private partnership’s European and global marketing communications efforts, focusing on the worldwide shift to a zero-carbon economy. She has also worked in consultancy positions at UNICEF, the British Council and mental health charity UK Sport and Mind.
