Since joining Wärtsilä - the global leader in lifecycle power solutions - in March 2008 Atte Palomäki has led the formation of an integrated function; realigning corporate communications, business communications, investor relations, marketing communication, branding and local communications into one global unit. With his team Mr Palomäki leads and develops inspirational communications in an industrial environment. The outcome is proactive business support with focused messaging and enhanced stakeholder interaction. Under his leadership Wärtsilä has taken a stern multi-channel approach, with increasing focus on the digital media and collaboration. As corporate responsibility is embedded in the operations, sustainable business has been lifted to being one main theme of communications. Prior to entering corporate communications Mr Palomäki had a 15 year career in journalism. Working among others for the Finnish News agency, MTV3 news and the business daily Kauppalehti he gained vast experience in both print and broadcast media. He is a graduate in Political Sciences from the Helsinki University.
